Treasures and Such

For anyone who knows me very well...you know that I am a sucker for a good rummage sale and I love finding treasures at a bargain. My sweet hubby took me to an auction this morning. I also love a good auction but really have to watch myself because I get so wrapped up in winning that I could very easily end up with something that I paid way too much for. This didn't happen to be one of those trips. I got these super fun glasses for $2. I really wanted a ball jar pitcher but told myself I wouldn't bid more than $20 for it, and someone else got it for $20. I know it was worth way more than that. But I really was trying to practice some self control...darn it! Anyway, I am very pleased with my new treasure and wanted to share.

Ok, so we are a little late but....Happy Tine Tine's Day! Here is Miss Evie decked out in her Valentine's Day outfit. I can't believe that I caught her on film with the hat actually on. It is her new thing to rip whatever is on her head off the second that you put it on her. I kept trying to get people's attention before I put her hat on so that they could see it on her head. She is such a stinker. Her new favorite word is Mama. I love it. All she would say was DaDa and now we say Mama! Woo Hoo! It is my favorite too! I just love her so much! It is amazing. I have some more photos I need to post...so hopefully I will get to it tomorrow since I am caught up on work and the house is clean. Yay!

Staying Home

Today is my first offical day as a Stay At Home Mommy. I love it. It is the way that it should be...at least for me and Evie. She spent her first night last night in her big girl crib in her own room, and she did better than mommy did with it. I am so blessed to be able to spend my time with this amazing little creature. My prayer is that God will continue to watch over her and care for her through me. What a gift to be the caretaker of this beautiful girl. God says that before she was even formed, He knew her...how awesome is that, and how Awesome is He?

She Stands

Evie is 6 months old as of yesterday...and boy does she wear her mommy out! Here is a vidoe of her at 5 1/2 months old, standing! Her new thing now is to pull up and let go, she hasn't successfully been free-standing for any significant amount of time yet, but she is getting there. (Oh! And the trash bag is full of clothes, not trash...if that matters to anyone!)

I took this one when Daddy and Evie were watching football for the first time. It is so funny that she LOVES to look at the t.v. She will prop her head up like in this photo and just watch the colors. Last night she actually started crying every time that she couldn't see the t.v. while eating her night time bottle...it is really funny! I can't believe that she is over 3 months old! Time flies!

We just love watching our little girl grow. It happens so fast! I can't believe that she is 7 weeks old this Friday! My goodness! I am NOT looking forward to returning to work. Mommy just loves being a mommy! I am certain that there will be some anxiety on both our parts when that happens...God is good and he will work it all out the way that is best for all of us.

Things have been a little busy around here lately! Today is my official due date, and boy am I glad that she came early! Evelyn is 10 days old today! I never dreamed how many diapers and dirty onesies I would be cleaning every day! She is truely a gift and I am enjoying being her mommy. Here are a few pictures just to get caught up. We have had some nearly sleepless nights, been to the Dr, and sang lots of silly songs so far! There have been baths, and crying, smiles and bubble noises...it just doesn't get any better than this!

On Friday July 10th at 6:28pm Evelyn Ruth made her debut! At 7 pounds 1 ounce and 20 inches long, she is our own little piece of heaven. God is so good!

Frog Stomping

A couple of days ago, I went into our down stairs bathroom, because well you can figure that out. I lifted the lid, and to my surprise there was a frog swimming around in there...yes, a frog. I have heard about things crawling up drain pipes, but never thought much of it. I mean, surely it doesn't really happen, right? Wrong. I stared at him wondering what I should do, and he swam down the drain. I told my husband, Ryan, that I was not about to use that bathroom anytime soon. Yesterday, I was in the kitchen and I hear Ryan say "Huh!" pretty loud. The frog was back...I got a tupperware out of the cabinet and Ryan got him in it, when he was putting on the lid, the frog jumped out and we got on our knees to search for the frog. Ryan did finally catch him and by the time I got my camera to post a pic on here...the frog was not in good shape and Ryan said I didn't want a picture. So I have no proof other than my word, that there was a frog in my toilet, but now he is gone! :)

So here I am trying to learn how to blog...thanks a lot Shay! I guess I will start by sharing some pictures of my precious baby on the way's room. Her name is Evelyn Ruth and we are just weeks from meeting her! We can't wait.
